The Big Lottery Fund announced a new £155 million Children’s Play initiative in March 2006. Funding of £213,379 was made available to Horsham District Council on condition of producing a Play Strategy and developing a portfolio of projects that would be funded by the Big Lottery Fund grant.

 The Play Strategy and Action Plan for the Horsham District OrHOfocuses on outdoor play where it is free of charge, children & Young People are free to come and go and they are free to choose what they do whilst there. Six projects were chosen to benefit from the Big Lottery Fund grant. One of which was the funding of a Mobile Skate Park, Football Cage and Street Sports Development Officer for a period of 3 years.
